Professional Experience
With more than 35 years of experience as a business professional, Sheila has dedicated 26 of those years to the field of human resources. She has worked with a range of organizations—from small, private companies to large, publicly traded Fortune 500 corporations with operations across the United States and internationally. Her career has spanned various roles, ranging from HR Generalist to Regional Director of HR to Vice President of HR.
Consulting Experience
In 2020, she became a certified professional coach. Sheila is committed to serving as a business partner, mentor, coach, leader, and facilitator. She is passionate about creating safe, non-judgmental spaces where individuals can learn from one another. Recognized as a presence coach by clients and former colleagues, Sheila guides individuals in developing self-awareness and staying present in the moment to pursue their goals.
Sheila serves as a board member for non-profit organizations in New Haven, Connecticut, and Kalamazoo, Michigan, demonstrating her commitment to giving back to local communities.
Education
As a single mother balancing full-time work, Sheila attended Western Michigan University, where she successfully earned her bachelor’s degree with a major in human resource management and a minor in general business.
Personal Information
Growing up in the northside neighborhood with her mother and four siblings, Sheila was influenced from a young age by both her family and local business professionals. These early role models instilled in her the belief that anything is possible with self-confidence and a can do/will do attitude.
Outside of her professional and civic engagements, Sheila enjoys a variety of activities including running, fishing, watching Michigan State Spartans football and basketball, golfing, and playing pickleball. She values spending time with family and friends, often sharing laughter and memorable moments. Above all, she is dedicated to fully living life, not merely existing in it.
